Design-Build Process
Embarking on a home renovation project is an exhilarating adventure for you and your family. Like any worthwhile endeavor, it involves a carefully orchestrated process to bring your vision to life. To ensure a smoother journey from concept to completion, Josh and his team have developed a process including:
1. Detailed Planning: Mapping the Critical Path
Identifying critical path elements, establishing clear objectives and priorities, and anticipating potential challenges. [ex. When will windows and cabinets be delivered]
2. Developing a Comprehensive Schedule
Create a realistic timeline for each renovation phase, including the procurement of materials, coordination of various contractors, and Building Department inspections.
3. Maintaining Open Communication
Keep everyone informed throughout the process: Provide weekly (and sometimes daily) updates and use the Abrams Builders Project Log (PL) to address concerns or questions.
4. Preparing for the Unexpected
Surprises are almost inevitable, especially when dealing with older homes from the 19th or early 20th century. Mitigate potential delays by: Building buffer time into the schedule, setting aside a contingency budget, and remaining flexible and adaptable.
By thoroughly planning and maintaining a proactive approach, we can minimize the impact of unforeseen issues and keep your dream project on track.
